This stage is all about turning the idea into a full brand identity. Branding is more than just creating a logo, its how the business presents itself throughout all its assets; documents, packaging, way-finding, uniforms, posters, exhibition booths, and much more. The brand must encapsulate a personality and voice that is relatable to the business and audience. Our initial role at CAUKIN Studio was to gain a much deeper insight into Longbridge, its inner workings, future plans, purpose and everything in between. Through our new understanding of the business, we were then able to build a set of parameters that guide our creative decision making. Our aim was to build a brand that ensures long term success through a clear, timeless and relevant visual identity.
Brand Values and Purpose
Due to the wide range of current and future projects encapsulated within the Longbridge umbrella, the core themes and objectives of each were distilled, analysed and reconnected in a broader sense. Longbridge is a way of approaching business, rather than a product itself, and the core ethos and mission is at the heart of all decisions. At its core, Longbridge has a strong environmental and social purpose. The umbrella brand had to encapsulate the many different aspects of the business, demonstrating its commitment to creating a healthier planet and healthier communities. The progressive ethos that drives Longbridge forward aims to inspire individuals and communicate new ways of running successful businesses - methods that create future-proof career opportunities for the next generation.
Brand Personality and Audience
Longbridge needed to maintain a smart appearance and professional tone of voice, whilst introducing contemporary and youthful sparks that appeal to a wide range of people. On the professional side, the brand will be seen by potential business partners, clients, collaborators, governmental bodies, grant funders and much more - therefore Longbridge must be seen as a serious organisation that withholds strong expertise within its field. On the flip side, the brand will also be used to engage a younger audience through educational initiatives, products and activities that will work to inspire and reconnect people with the natural world. Our task was to create a brand that appeals to both - something that is refreshing and a little bit different.
